The "V for Vendetta Artist" is coming to Lanka Comic Con 2017

British comic book artist, David Lloyd, is coming to Lanka Comic-Con 2017. He is probably best known as the illustrator for the Alan Moore story, “V for Vendetta.”

“I thought that would be great if he looked like Guy Fawkes, kind of theatrical. I just suggested it to Alan, and he said, 'that sounds like a good idea.' It gave us everything, the costume and everything.”

 

V for Vendetta is a tale of resistance against a fascist government. In it, the UK is controlled by a xenophobic, authoritarian party, revolving around strong leadership.The anarchist, V, begins a one-man terror crusade against the them, inspiring others to rise up.

 

Lloyd has been illustrating for Comics since the 1970s, and has worked on IPs for Marvel UK, DC, Dark Horse Comics, and more. He has worked on such properties as "Hellblazer" with Grant Morrison, "War Story" with Garth Ennis, and "Global Frequency" with Warren Ellis.

In 2012, Lloyd started Aces Weekly, a multi award-winning digital comic anthology.  

It features the work of such creators as Mark Wheatley, Val Mayerik, John McCrea, Phil Hester, and Lew Stringer.
